WARNING This is a superb set BUT ... Before downloading this set, be aware that you will need to edit all 19 of the .cue files before you can burn a CD. Volumes 10, 13, 14, 15, & 17 require major or complete revision of the .cue files. Give yourself at least an hour to do this. If you don't know how to edit a .cue file, avoid this set - it will all end in tears :) If you do know how, it will be worth the effort.
Just listen to the Bruckner 5 by Wand, almost 2 times. I think Wand's Bruckner with BPO was posted here before. But I want to see how Wand guest conduct a lesser orchestra. If my memory serves me well, his NDR is more flexible than this performance. But my CDs are in storage, and cannot do a comparison. some critics mentioned his tempo a bit squarish, no, he is not Jochum. But listen to the color he can get from this orchestra, and the way he built up tension, and yet he is not slow to the ears. This Bruckner 5 is from 1991, around those days, there were also Giulini, Celi, very often so slllloooowww.
Are there any chances to see Wand Live Bruckner box (Korea editon, I think) ? i think some NDR Bruckner sym has more than one recording....
